Progressive Research Systems Ltd was established in 1990 with the aim of introducing exciting new developments in separations technology.

PRS Ltd then...

PRS Ltd remains committed to the introduction of innovative technology and products to the separations market, and in particular to the biopurification and bioprocess technology sector. In those early days back in the 1990’s, PRS introduced products from the newly formed company PerSeptive Biosystems Inc, Perfusion Chromatography® media, known as POROS®, together with the first introductions to European customers of BioCad®, the original fully automated methods development workstation for biochromatography. PRS Ltd also helped to introduce ACL Mimetic® affinity materials (now marketed by ProMetic Biosciences Inc) and several other innovative chromatography products. PRS operations were discontinued in 1993, but were reinstated early in 2006.

Scientists and technologists working within bioseparations or downstream purification will be familiar with many separation techniques including chromatography, filtration, centrifugation and many other established purification methods. These technologies continue to generate new and exciting developments, many of which sadly remain undiscovered by practising scientists. Many such products take far too long to become recognised as valuable and productive tools. They are frequently developed by companies who may not have the resources or marketing skills of the larger, more familiar and established companies operating in this sector.

It is such products and services that PRS is committed to bringing to the attention of the separations community, from within a single strategically focussed website.

PRS is proud to develop this new web concept in association with its first two significantly valuable and highly innovative product lines. PRS plans to assemble a portfolio of complementary products from innovative companies that have developed productive and time saving tools for today’s separations technologist.
